BGLC Spring Lacrosse COVID-19 Guidelines

BGLC Spring Lacrosse COVID-19 Guidelines

Below are a few of the mandates that are relevant to you and your child’s behavior at lacrosse. Please know that there is far more that we are doing behind the scenes and that we will continue to follow ALL of the guidelines mandated by NYS Guidelines for Sports and Recreation, whether we have listed those specifics or not. We also recognize that guidelines and recommendations are frequently changing, we will update our guidelines accordingly.

  • If an athlete or coach is sick, then they must stay home.
  • Athletes and coaches should check their temperature before leaving their home and should remain home if their temperature is 100.5 F or above as per CDC guidelines.
  • Athletes will arrive to practice and depart practice with masks on.
  • When practicing indoors, Coaches and players should be masked at all times, unless the players have a medical reason why they are unable to wear a mask while playing.
  • When practicing outdoors, as per NYS Guidelines for Sports and Recreation, athletes will NOT be required to wear masks while playing lacrosse outdoors, but they may wear a mask if they wish.
  • Athletes and coaches should sanitize hands upon arrival and before departure each day.
  • Coaches will promote physical distancing during all breaks and all sideline groupings.
  • Sharing of equipment will be discouraged whenever possible.
  • Shared goalie equipment and practice pinnies will be cleaned and sanitized following each practice or game.
  • Parents should remain in cars whenever possible during drop off and pick up.
  • No spectators are allowed for practices.
  • We hope that there will be a spring lacrosse season with potential games versus other towns, details will follow.
  • In the event that we play games this spring, there will be a 2 spectator per player limit.
  • All spectators should remain socially and/or physically distanced.
